BP1 - San Diego and Water

San Diego is currently in a drought
San Diego has a desert climate. Rain is rare in SD. Because San Diego is a desert, most of its water comes from hundreds of miles away.

San Diego is projected to double its population by 2050. Because the city will have 2 million residents, San Diego needs to produce more water. The plan to produce more water includes:

  • conservation (saving water)
  • recycle water
  • desalination
